Fun Facts and Banana Bites about Tomatoes:

  • Did you know??

    • Tomatoes are often called vegetables, but they are actually fruit.

    • Tomatoes come in all different sizes from small cherry tomatoes to the large beefsteak varieties.

    • When buying a tomato pick one that is bright red and feels heavy for it’s size.

    • Fresh tomatoes should not be refrigerated before cut into because they will become mushy and lose flavor. After they are cut they should be refrigerated.

    • Tomatoes are full of different vitamins and also contain other nutrients that help prevent cancer and keep your heart healthy and strong

TURKEY TOMATO PANINI

Make sure you have an adult help while making this.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices Whole Wheat Bread

  • 1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter

  • 2 Slices Thinly Sliced Turkey

  • 4 Slices Tomato

  • 2 Slices Mozzarella Cheese

Tools:

    • Butter Knife

    • Small Frying Pan

What to do:

  1. Have an adult help you lightly butter one side of each piece of bread.

  2. Place one piece butter side down in warm frying pan.

  3. Place cheese, turkey and tomato on bread and top with other piece of bread on top, butter side up.

  4. Keep flipping sandwich until cheese is melted and toast is browned.

  5. Enjoy!
